Last time I look at this was back in 2018,

Two options (that may or may not work for your motor)

double lock the car very quickly works for some

Control unit 09
Byt 12, Bit 7 shows Anti theft system interior monitoring as installed on mine.

and just to add to your comment on VAGCOM for those that are not used to that term

from the VCDS wikipedia page

VCDS (an abbreviation for "VAG-COM Diagnostic System" and formerly known as VAG-COM

Sorry if my comments about VAG COM annoyed you, it is just that most people that call it VAG COM have bought a hookie old version of that. I was an early adopter (2001) of VAG-COM and so have traded that in for VCDS HEX USB and then needed to repeat that to VCDS HEX-V2 as our cars demanded that.

Any or all car alarms that are built into a car are designed to be available at all times, except for the odd time that you need to disable them, so I'd still suggest chatting to your insurer about this plan.

Very annoying that disabling it is hidden behind menus now though, a bit like traction control, but there again with traction control being tricky to find and disable forces you to learn to trust it in tight situations I suppose.
