Is a Golf Mk4 02J Gearbox suitable?

My gearbox is just about to go on my mk3 Ibiza Cupra R - can someone please confirm what gearbox it has (think it's 02J) and whether or not a Golf mk4 02J box is suitable (I know the ratios are different but what will this mean if I put it on my car....)

So although the ratios are slightly different, is there anything that will stop me putting a Mk4 Golf 02J Gearbox onto a Mk3 Ibiza Cupra?

I'm almost definite that all the 02Js are the same.

The fit them to Octavia and the Audi too

any O2J box will fit and work,
but as per the link someone posted above the gear ratio's depend on the code of the box... (the ibiza's being EDT).

Generally i think you'll find most gears are longer in the other box's (i think lol)

Best thing you can do is try and find a box with the closest ratio's

Everything sorted now - ratios ARE different - I went for a reconditioned gearbox with the SAME ratios as standard...happy days
