Is 2002 leon Cupra driver's wing mirror the same as a golf Mk4 one?

Hello,

I need a replacement driver's wing mirror for my 2002 Cupra by Monday 26th Jan, and the Leon one I had sourced has vanished and can no longer be delivered.

I can get a new Golk mk IV mirror painted and delivered in time for Monday, but they have no SEAT part they can paint/deliver. Would the Golf mark IV mirror be the same as the Leon part? If only slightly different, would it still fit?

I've been trying to search on line for this to no avail and the MOT is up on Monday.

Much appreciated,

Danksy

Mine are teardrop

Could they be the same as a Passat perhaps?

Thanks,

Well, I'm currently using my wife's makeup mirror sellotaped to the stub that's left - will that get me through the MOT? Amazingly it works quite well!

Hmm, whether they're "teardrop"? - I'm really not that sure - they appear teardrop shaped to my eye ie. definitely not square in the shape. My old man owned the car before me from new, he definitely hasn't done anything to it - bog standard 2002 model. I'll try to take a photo and post it at the w/end.

Still, according to the SEAT guys I can't just replace the mirror unit en masse with a mark IV.

Luckily my MOT garage said not to worry - as long as the mirror is secure and "it won't easily fall off" - eh hem - and can see behind me, I'm fine - That just bought me some time to get it fixed properly :D

Thanks for all you replies.

Sailed through the MOT with the wife's makeup mirror held in place with sellotape ... now have breathing space for a proper replacement.. and they're not teardrops either. Cheers!
