iPod Woes

My ipod has suddenly stop being recognised by the head unit, and it just says no CDC.

In my Mk I Leon with an aftermarket Dension you could just unplug the cigar shaped interface and then reconnect it and it would reboot the Dension unit which would normally sort any problems out.

Any ideas how to go about this with the factory fitted unit (which is essentially just a built in Dension unit)?

Have you tried turning off the radio, disconnecting ipod and turning the ipod off... or doing a reboot... how do you do it i forget? is it hold down the middle button and menu?

I know on mine you have to wait a second before trying to select the ipod after you've turned the radio on... you're saying you can't select ipod at all? :(

I had my Ipod docking Station replaced under warranty, it would play, but not allow you to change any play lists, songs etc. according to the Techie, it "just" clips out, and there is a loom under the seat. Perhaps it has come adrift?

Maybe give that a go? The longest wait with mine, was the stealer's getting the part in. i must say that i am not overly enamoured with the Ipod option, it works - Just! No info, on the head unit!

Dave

edit - the part number required is 5P0857925A1QB - Description is TRAY, seem to remember is costs £180 TOO!!!!.

Yep,can't select at all - just says no CDC (compact disc changer) which is what the head unit recognises the ipod as,and already tried all of the above!!
