IPOD Issues

Having recently taken delivery of my new Seat Leon FR TDI all is well except the ipod under the seat connector. The headunit will not recognise a Ipod nano, although the multi CD icon briefly displays then after about 5 seconds it goes out, also the ipod doesn't appear to come on / light up. Does anyone have any ideas? Otherwise after 200 miles the car is great and cannot get enough of the mid rang grunt and the bluetooth system! Cheers

is it definately a ipod equiped car, or just one with a usb port,

if its a ipod one, then you need the correct adaptor thing to make oyiour ipod work, if its a usb one, then the nano doesnt work on it

Thanks, It is the ipod option not the aux / usb. I have used the correct plastic thingy to align the ipod to the holder and still no luck. All software updates on Ipod as well.

Don't think I have any stereo keys, think I'll pop back to stealers - maybe a loose connection somewhere.

No ideas, unfortunately - other than what others have said and it might be a loose connection. I don't suppose you have anyone else's Ipod at work/friends that you could try do you ?

I have a ???th generation nano - 4gb one, never had any problems with it, other than the pathetic functionality :)

Had the same problem with my cupra. You'll find that if you turn the radio off it re finds the ipod then drops connection after 5 secs. Took it back to dealers and after checking all connections came to conclusion that the connector under the seat was faulty.

They have ordered new connections and waiting for parts to arrive will take about 5 mins to change over they said.

Otherwise like you great car.

:)

So, If you have an aux / usb connector on a brand new leon, will it work with some ipod models or not? I have an Ipod touch, 1st gen.

you could try connecting the ipod cable to the usb in your leon; i'm not sure if it will be recognized as an ipod.. it could just charge it.. there wont be any harm in trying though ;)

Hi with mine it was a faulty ipod dock under the seat, took it back to the dealers who tested it and they ordered a new part and replaced it, in fact i've recently had it replaced again as it stopped working under warranty! :)

Hello,

Instead of opening another thread I guess I can just put my question here since it has something to do with the dock station under the seat.

I'm about to buy a new ipod and i'm pretty interested in the new 5th generation nano. I have some questions though!

Does the new ipod nano work without problems with the seat dock and does it also charge its battery? Oh and I have a Seat Leon from the year 2007 if it matters in any way.
