:bleh: Hello!

I've seen on some of your car spec's that you can get a device that allows you to intergrate your ipod into the cars stereo. Can anone please explain how this works and where to get it from as i'm only going to buy an ipod nano if i can use it in the car. Cheers in advance.................

Dont bother with the Nano. Its gimmicky and most importantly flawed. I had a look at a friends new Nano, and i bet I could snap it in two with my bare hands. I would go for the ipod 20gb 'photo' (they are all photo now). Much bigger storage and a little more rugged. I am sure you can afford to have a little less space in the glove box.

I read some where that there is a lead available for the standard Seat Aura head unit. Had anyone heard of this?

There are several leads available to suit the standard head unit.

I have used the Dension lead which you can combine with a cradle to hold the unit and charge it, or you can do it without the cradle. The unit works by using the CD changer port as an axuilary line in and transferes the output from the ipod into the standard unit. You can then use the controls on the stereo to control the ipod although i prefer to use the ipod controls. It even lets you change the input voltage to get a good level. Connects 2 also do a more basic version but it does essentially the same thing.

A quick search on google will throw up suppliers, the Dension is about £100 and the connects 2 is about £50 from memory although I may be wrong.

Of course you will have to do away wit the CD changer but then again thats no great loss.

Hope this helps.

Can anyone give an update on this as the last post was six years ago. I have a standard Aura CD player head unit but no multi CD changer. I have been using an FM transmitter connected to my Ipod 4th generation to listen to music through the radio but the quality is awful and I am fed up with it. I want to connect the Ipod to an in line lead or whatever it's called so the quality of sound will be better. I assume I can buy a lead and connect it to the back of the Aura CD unit, as there's no connector on the front. Can anyone advise? Specifically I want to know if there is an input on the back of the Aura unit. Cheers all and happy new year :)

That was some use of the search function!

I've hand an iPod system and still got and use a connects 2 system, works a treat

Easy to install,

Remove the HU,
Connect the leads to the CD changer ports (they only fit in the one slot)
Leave the 30 pin I pod connector somewhere accessible (glove box/ centre console tray)

Easy!

When you want to use it just set the radio to Cd changer, it will begin playing "track 1, cd1"

You cant change play lists but you can use the track forward and backwards buttons to change track

Plenty on Ebay (£40 upwards)
