You can buy an adapter which replaces the CD changer and gives an AUX in

...or, get the one that lets you plug in a Panasonic changer (which fits in the same hole in the glovebox) and which comes with phono connections, so you can unplug the changer and plug in your MP3 player *

*only snag being you need discs in the changer, because you're effectively playing CDs but swapping the sound for that from your MP3 player.... and there's a short blip (2 sec silence) if it changes from one CD to the next

when i brought my Leon i had the same problem as i wanted to keep the standard Aura head unit so i brought an IOPLAY thingy which works as a phone handsfree and comes with a bluetooth adaptor that fits to the bottom of the ipod and plays it wirelessly which i find quite good.

thanks for the info chaps, I like the sound of that Ioplay, but how did you connect it to the original head unit, if the original head unit hasn't got bluetooth?

it connects into the back where the cd changer would go, and then the ipod plays through the cars speakers via the ioplayer as it has its own amp built in. so you dont need the headunit on to listen to your ipod. it turns up loud enough for my liking but if you have a bassbox connected to your headunit then i dont think the bassbox would be on.

and i paid £150 with free fitting in halfords but i checked a few weeks ago and on the internet you can buy it for around 90-£100, it doesnt look to complicated to fit so if you have time could probably fit it yourself

Hello - Did you make a decision on this one - had any more info. I am looking at connecting my IPhone 3G to the car but not sure on the best option.

Any further info would be fantastic.
