Has anyone connected their factory stereo to their Ipod???

How did you do it???

Or is it best to get an aftermarket stereo and connect it that way????

I got an Apline HU and ran the interface cable for the iPod into the glove box. The HU was only £200 and was money well spent.

I'm not a fan of the standard Aura HU so didn't investigate any other options. I know that a few peeps on the forum have though and I'm sure they'll be along any minute.

I've done this several times on bmw's and mini's and for me i prefer it this way. The downsides are you will lose your CD changer (if you have one) and the track names wont come up on the radio display, where as if you had an aftermarket one, it appears on the display.

I think from Seat these leads are £80ish+vat. From my understanding they arent supposed to be the best to wire up on VAG stuff, but is it not worth it in the long run?

Get a Dension ICE Link Plus (or Pro, can't remember which), and a brodit proclip mount.

This will mean the Ipod plugs into the CD changer port, and the iPod is mounted to the left of the Climate Control screen.

This measn you can browse the iPod as normal, and it's handy enough being in easy reach when driving.

I had one in the Leon, and it has now been moved into the VX, all I had to buy was a new mounting. I'd definitely recommend it!
