Ipod Connection Problems, Any Help?

Hi there, i have the 1.6 Sport Ibiza. i got the Ipod connection fitted as an extra by the dealer. it is the Denison Gateway 100 lead that is in the glove box.

When connected to my IPOD (nano 4th Gen) it only allows full control some of the time. some times you can skip between tracks, and it freezes in the menu's. It plays the audion fine, but it is just the control and information displaayed that seems to have a mind of its own.

and with CD's, is it possible to have the CD track information shown on the display? if so how do you do it?

just wondering if anyone else had these problems and could give me a hand

Cheers

This could be why

Update: 16 September

The Ibiza iPod connector must be activated before it can be used. Download the PDF below to find out how to activate the connection.

What was the problem before?
The Ibiza needs coding to accept MDI (multi-device interface) or MDI-equivalent products. The new software release removes the need for the unit to be coded using a VAS 5051; it is a plug-and-play solution.

Anybody found a fix for this? I've got the Dension 100 also and its forever freezing between menus, slightly annoying when i have to disconnect my ipod to change tracks!

when you ordered the ipod connection as an extra did you get the lead included as my local dealer told me i would have to pay over £100 for the correct lead.

You have to pay for the cradle and the ipod kit, not sur eon price.

I have a Denison Gateway 300 in mine and dont have any controls via the headunit other than volume, apparently they dont do a set up for the new Ibiza headunit as yet.

I have been told the lead is seperate bt was advised to get it from Halfords!!!!!! Half the price there apparently but will I end up having the same issue you are having?!
