iPod Connection Pack

From reading various posts on this forum I understand that people aren't very happy with the iPod Connection Pack offered on the SEAT Leon.
Many talk about not having great control over the iPod through the stereo controls.
It wasn't until I recently saw the iPod connection that I realised you can't use the controls on the iPod itself. Once the iPod is docked you can't see it or control it.

I wondered if this cable might help: http://cablejive.com/extendercable.html

It's a bit expensive but could be a great way to solve a stupid problem.

Please let me know what you think................

My FR has the factory IPOD kit, and to be honest it is very poor, I am waiting for my dealer to get a new docking station and cable in, as i cant change playlists or songs from either the steering wheel, or the head unit.

It is by far the worst option on my car.

If this is the Dension Ice Link plus as was fitted to my 06 car as the ipod connection option then you can set up the system to allow control from either the stereo (&wheel) or from the ipod. You can find out how by tracking down the manual from Dension's site.

As for whether you can reach the ipod once you have done this I dont know, but my cable sits underneath the radio so it would work.

One tip was to set playlists with numbers at the front, then these can be selected like selecting discs from the CD changer using the numbered buttons.

I don't think you have the set-up I was referring to.
I am specifically talking about the iPod Connection Pack offered as a SEAT option.
They add a dock in to the compartment under the drivers seat.

Mine was a SEAT option but at the time they offered it as a cable in the glove box without a dock on the end but mine got put under the stereo which is much better I think.

I would guess that it is a Dension IceLink plus. Try the instructions on their site n see if it responds. I think it was hold down 6 to access the menu which will appear on the ipod screen, then you navigate using the skip track buttons n 6 button.

If it is the same as the original iPod connector then yes.
The idea behind my original post was that the cable connects to the dock and lets the iPod float in the compartment under the chair.
You can then pull out the iPod and alter tracks and put it back in to the compartment.
