IPOD / CD changer wiring

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before - There are plenty of similar threads but I can't find anything specifically telling me what I want to know.

I'm planning on fitting a connects2 IPOD connector to a 55 reg Leon which plugs into the CD autochanger socket. Do cars which don't have a factory fitted CD changer or IPOD connector have the wiring in place already, or will I need to sort this out? Secondly, if I have to do that bit myself (ideally have cable going into glove box) is this a bit of a mission involving power tools and removing dashboards, or are there convenient places for cables to go?

Thanks for any help,

Chris

Just buy a wireless itrip off ebay for a tenner! An original ipod or itouch even fits exactly into the ashtray :) easier!

Never got on well with I-Trips... At some point on a long journey they always seem to get taken over by some local radio station.. And the one I've got that the moment is just rubbish.. Needs the frequency changing every 5 minutes. And I want to change the tracks on the steering wheel.. Less likely to crash into something that way.

ah fair enough. mine works pretty well where i am. i would imagine the socket for connecting a cd player/ipod cable would be there :) just take it out and see. but remember if you are to dissconnect the battery be sure to have the radio code!
