I have an iphone 3g and it has been working perfectly well with the cars bluetooth system up until today.

Now whenever I go to make a call the calls fails, the signal drops to zero and the phone reboots.

The bluetooth system works fine with an ericsson phone.

Does anybody have any ideas why this would be?

have you done a firmware update recently .. perhaps that has broke it?

Installed any new apps lately?

I find my iphone needs to be shut down and restarted fairly regularly to stop various irritating crashes and misbehaviours...

I only have a parrot in my car but I can't say I have noticed any problems with bluetooth or calls..

sorry that is not very much help is it.

Not noticed it on my iPhone but I only get to drive the car occasionally...

At weekends ...

When the wife is not driving it...

And we have to do a long journey...

After speaking to Apple support, I have done a restore to factory settings. The same thing has happened so the phone must be faulty. A courier is collecting it from work next week. Until I get a working phone back I'm using my old trusty K800i.

i'm considering getting a Iphone 3G. Do names show on the MFD for cars with factory bluetooth?

if it doesn;t i may have to go sony ericsson as my nokia n95 8gb is not fully compatiable with the bluetooth (i.e. no caller name, just number)

When the phone is not broken the address book and last numbers work on the MFD. The only downside is the 2 second buzz when making a phone call. The buzzing doesnt happen on every call though.
