I am having problems with my cars central locking using my fob and need some feedback please.

I have changed the battery in my key fob and still not working correctly. When I press the button on my fob it flashes but my car does not respond. Some times I have to press it around 20 times just for it to respond.

What would cause this issue?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks

I have just had a look and they are the contacts are clean. If the red light flashes the fob is working. Not sure what else would cause this?

well give it a wd40 anyway, battery contacts can get dirty too, not the best sealed key in the world.

Next thing is what year is the car?

Pre 97 were infra red so you have to point the key at the receiver near the rear view mirror, Post 97 was radi so should work from anywhere within 10m
