Interior Air Vent Speed Question

I have noticed that when i have the air vents blowing at full power in the car they are ok but no where near as powerfull as most other cars.

BUT i do know it has more to give because if u put the car into reverse it seems to double in blowing power untill u put it out of Reverse and also if its VERY cold and u want it warm it puts itself into "Overdrive" untill it has warmed up.

My question is Can u manually make it blow harder so at full blow it actually feels like 99% of other cars???

thanks steve

Not sure if the blowers work harder when you put the car in reverse but it does go into recirculate mode when you are in reverse so the sound would change

so the car doesnt get filled with exhaust fumes and the sound is basically louder as the outside flap closes up - making a cavern

When you put it in reverse, the recirculation kicks in which bypasses the pollen filter behind the glovebox, this is why it blows harder. Mine had a similar poor performance problem and found the Pollen Filter was black and indeed, never replaced in 40k!

A: Make sure the Pollen filter housing is secured in properly
B: Try changing your pollen filter
C: If that isnt satisfactory, get rid of it, but dont complain when wasps and leaves (and pollen!) comes through your air vents ;)

passenger side footwell. just behind glove box.
remove pannel and u will see to slide clips slide them towards each other and slide the filter cover of, and there it is.

think i may have a prob with this would it be right if after i had the car serviced and i have the blowers on full i can hear like all the air is mainly going out through the passenger footwell!maybe they didn't fit it properly?!

yeah check the filter cover, check the cover is fully located and the clips are slid all the way over in there groove. Try puttin the blowers on Full power and u should feel if there is a air leak there.
