Evening all,

Was on my way to the gym this evening, the display was showing 3.5 degrees, so very cold, but not as cold has it has been...

Put my foot down hard in second, and it literally hit 60 in a couple of seconds- major torque steer and it was pulling a LOT harder than usual.

Had to stop for traffic lights, and did it again, and it was still ridiculously quick. Definitely not normal! After about 4500rpm, it then went into limp mode.

Not totally sure what's wrong with the car... wish it did this all the time but without the limp mode!! I've no real idea of what the car has had done to it, but it's got a forge TIP, new DV, and an AmD stage1 remap (Apparently).

I thought it could have been the cold, but it's been colder recently and it hasn't been as quick as this...

any ideas??

cheers

rhys :funk:

Could have been a bit of a mist in the air, that'd help. If it's going into limp mode though I'd say maybe overboosting.... have you got a boost gauge?

yeah sounds like it overboosted. I get that occasionally, but the limp mode only lasts about 20 seconds.

Last night on the motorway at 0 degrees I was hitting 24psi which is 6psi more than normal and it was shifting! :)

ok, i have no idea when it comes to all these valves, 249 75 112 etc etc. is it worth just changing the MAF, coilpacks and n75 valve when i service the car this week?

MAF and coilpacks shouldnt cause overboost. As said, i'd just try a different N75 valve. And go from there.

Not sure mate, i've not had to change mine as yet. I think motor factors can get them in but IIRC they are about £40 from SEAT.

cold weather sure helps!!! was -3 on way home last night was hitting 26psi :) fairly motoring along indeed it was!!
