There's no F in Quality..
My quote for my 2.0 8v Ibiza was about £600 FC, that's with 5 years NCB though, and I'm 25 ;)

Need to fit a Cat 1/2 Immobiliser though, which should drop that down a fair bit to.

Postcode tends to play quite a large factor in your premium though, being in a City postcode doesn't help me at all :( Reckon it'd be sub £500 if I still lived in Devon !!!

well i live near lincoln in a village, pretty quiet postcode really so that helps

not sure though as i want to move outta home, that involves moving into lincoln so higher insurance costs. plus means saving to move out too

My renewal is £185 with all mods (and there are quite a few) declared. That's TPFT, annual mileage of 3000 with a Thatcham Cat1. I'm 32 and had a total loss claim on another car 2 years ago. Quote is for Surrey/Hants borders.

A grand is about right to be honest. I assume it was a write-off claim and not just a new bumper for eg, which plays a big part.

Who are you insured with Jason?

~£350 fully comp, full protected no claims, 27, Surrey, no extra security, garaged.

Hi Ed - It's with Highway motor insurance, and with all the optional extras taken off (i.e. no hire car, no legal protection, no foreign cover, only me driving).

Dunno if this will help you mate, ring 01217847676 and speak to Jo - say Ian Morgan gave you the number - I spent days ringing around and they were defo the cheapest - I know Jo, she'd defo sort you a good deal if you mention my name

16v seems to be ~£100 - 200 or so more than insuring my 8v, so not fair comparisons.

I've found that haggling, as in any sales situation, gets you some decent money off. I'm with Elephant, just renewed my insurance, 2yrs 10month accelerator ncb (under parents previously), £509. So about £600 a year, 24yrs old. Think a 16v was £720ish for me.
