Currently with Direct line for my Fabia VRS and I was going to stay with them for my Leon FR, I phoned earlier for a quote on the new car and they wanted £193 to change the policy for the 10 months remaining on it which didnt sound too bad but they were going to put my excess up to £750!!!!

I did my usual search and I was looking at about £700 to insure it for a year with an excess of approx £500 which made my wallet curl up and hide but thankfully I managed to get a quote for £550 with a £500 excess which im really happy with, less than £200 a year more to insure than my Fabia.

Im 24 with 3 years no claims and that quote is with Morethan, hopefully that might be of use to someone.

I had a 1.4 D4D yaris before my FR. It costs £3 a year less to insure the FR. Go figure.
27, 3 years NC (should be 4, but stupid post office made it impossible to change the car on my policy so i lost 8 months), 6 points :(

I rang Chris Knott Insurance who had a deal with the Astra Owners Network. They will beat your best quote by 10%. Paid £530 with only £100 excess. I'm 26 with 1yr ncb and the missus as an additional driver (she's just claimed on her policy as well).

Not bad imho.

Direct line are becoming worse. I have been with them for 15 years and we just bought a Mini cooper S for which they wanted £470 to insure, baring in mind we already had a 206GTi which is same insurance group and only paid £270.

My wife got on tinternet and got the mini insured for £293 with Shiela's wheels.

Then she rang Direct line to say she was not re-newing and the bloke got stroppy wanting to charge a months money to cancel even though we pay up front, I told her to let the insurance lapse as it only had two weeks left to run.
