I'm having trouble getting cheap(ish) prices for it!

i've tried adrian flux and they want £5000!!!!

yes i'm only 19 and have 0 no claims bonus, am i best not telling the insurance and staying on my moms policy for now or insuring it with a remap as my mom as main driver????

any help or advice much appreciated :D

thanx you!

Unfortuantely you need to inform them of your remap, well in my eyes anyway. If you can get your mother to insure it with her no claims then go for it. I own a 54 plate cupra, im 21, my insurance was going to cost me 3500+....my partner is 27, she got full no claims, wacked them over onto a new policy with her as main driver, our insurance is 470 quid.

makes a hell of a difference!

dude, that would be a bad move. seriously.

If you clip it, or something then when they run a diagnostic on your car for your claim they've picked it up, void your insurance and your seriously in trouble with fraud costs

bell and swift cover wont insure it either!
i might just ring my current insurer (budget) and see how much they're going to add to the policy and pay it monthly!
i dont want to drive around with a remap knowing its illegal and knowing i cant crash!

good lad! do it the right way.......hazard a guess, if you get caught, you'd be payin out more than 3000 on a fine. mite aswell pay it to your insurer.

i've just seen another post in the 'remap questions' where somebody has been told that a remap wont show up on the vehicle diagnostics if the car is checked by an insurer or a dealership, is this true?????

finding it very hard to get insurance cover for a remap!

You are best telling insurance, but the problem you will get is thay will all think you are a boy racer. Thats why its going to be so high.

Greenlight are not that good. Thay also only insure over 21's so you being 19 is why thay will not insure you.

I got 3 years NCB and on my cupra with a remap to 200Bhp thay want an extra £100 taking my insurance up to £900. But i am not sure if i will do it as it voids warrenty as well :headhurt:

well my car is out of warranty the day after i'm having it done so it doesnt really matter about that. on my moms insurance with 8 years no claims i'm lookin at an extra £1000 with most companies on top of a £1200 policy! i havent been in touch with my current insurer to ask how much they're goin to put it up so i'm hopeing they dont say a ridiculous amount :(

No thats rubbish. If you run VAGCOM while dirveing it gives a read out of your BHP and other figuers. It also shows as a revision on the ECU history. You may not be able to see this in VAGCOM but dealers can:confused:
