Instrument cluster alarm problem

Hi Guys

Please can you help?

There’s been quite a few times recently that when I have started the car, the instrument cluster illuminates more lights than it should, and then as soon as the engine is running, the car alarm goes off.

I plugged my diagnostic device in, and it says:

Auto HVAC -
01206 – 155 KWP1281
Signal for Duration of Ignition: Off
Sporadic implausible signal

According to Ross Tech (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01206) the possible causes could be:

• Ignition Switch faulty
• Wiring between Instrument Cluster (J285) and Climatronic Control (J255) faulty
• Instrument Cluster (J285) faulty
• Climatronic Control (J255) faulty

The possible Solutions could be:

• Check Ignition Switch
• Check Wiring between Instrument Cluster (J285) and Climatronic Control (J255)
• Check Instrument Cluster (J285)
• Check Climatronic Control (J255)

Has anyone else had this alarm problem, and do you think my instrument cluster needs to be repaired?

Cheers

Den

Update

Update guys.

My car alarm problem seems to have been cured by replacing the car battery (with a Bosch S5 096).

I installed it on the 2nd January, and as of now (14th January) the car alarm problem has not returned.

Peace and quiet for my neighbours at last.
