So went to do the N249 bypass this morning this morning thinking it would be a nice cheap mod. It would have been had I not been such a muppet.

In trying to remove the clip holding on the original rubber pipe onto the inlet manifold so I could replace it with some new silicone vacuum hose I bought, I managed to snap the nipple off. :banghead2 Took surprisingly little force to do the damage (more than likely in the wrong direction I admit :ban:) Bye bye cheap morning! [:@]:censored: Now fully committed I've removed the inlet manifold knowing I have to either replace it or repair it.

My question is, does anyone know if I can get a replacement nipple? If so I'm guessing it would be a case of drilling the existing one out?

For now, needing my car back on the road ASAP, I've ordered a second had manifold from ebay which is due here by the end of the week so that will get me back up and running. Hoping I can repair my existing one to recover my costs! I've been wanting to either polish or paint my manifold so now is my chance. For anyone else trying this, I'd personally just disconnect the hoses at the FPR and N249, remove the inlet manifold and then remove the hoses with it off the car. Far less risk of damage and it only took about an hour or so to remove.

You can drive with the nipple of, but its a boost/vacuum leak. So drive easy (try to drive without using boost), because the turbo will try to get to the specified boost which he cant properly deliver (cause of the leak).

You can also drill the piece out and weld an AN connector or such in place.

Cheers guys. No so keen on running it as it is. It would mean either the FPR or DV wouldn't be connected. Surely this would cause running issues? I've ordered a new manifold so it'll be sorted soon.

Well, if you're doing the n249 properly you should be left with an unused vacuum port under the manifold. You could use that one instead and block up the broken one with something as a temporary fix.

Exactly what id do The swede, remove all n249 piping, leave sensors and plate connected, block up the broken vac nipple and use the other for fpr and dv. On the new manifold if u do the full n249 bypass then u will be left with one to block up anyway, unless u run fpr and dv to them both seperately instead of using a tee.

So I've managed to drill out the broken part and tap the hole, Bolt is in so it looks like I'll be ok! Unfortunately I'm lacking a T bit. So I'll hunt one down after work tomorrow and then put it all back together.
