Findings
With Laguna FMIC there was timing of 3.8 shown on a couple of occasions on 1 cylinder only....the rest did not move off 0...
We can see that at the Laguna FMIC highest temps, these were only 4° above the SMIC coldest temps...

The above were logged with REVO Stg 2 on boost 8 timing 8 using Tesco 99 RON fuel

I am now running timing 9 with no problems, Tesco 99 with occasional Octane booster...above logs were also done with faulty boost gauge and temps were noted but not logged :doh: as low as 32°C

New logs to be done once car has new clutch and replacement boost gauge (covered under warranty).

Thanks for looking...

what was the ambient temp? The reason that i ask is that i cant say that i have ever seen my intake temps hit over 40oc with the laguna fmic.

the highest i have seen is 37oc and that was in 22oc ambient temp.

must of been a hot day

karl - it's very hard to compare your results with mikes. Unless the two runs are conducted with clinical precision you'll never be 100% sure to have comparable results

High boost 8 is the equivalent...I think fella?

Not sure, I'm loving it tho, when the clutch is done I can't wait...

Boost 9 if logs allow it lol

I'm not sure - for best results you'd want a proper EGT guage & sensor though.

You can get it on vag-com but I'm not convinced by it's accuracy

Righto... maybe leave boost at 8 then... if those temperatures were high, would it smell?

Just wondering... *cough*

What are 115 and 1118 Martyn?

Yes std DP and CAT

Mork - why would I blame you?
Think CAT melted when I was running SMIC, temperatures were seen at 70°C....(not in that log ^^^)

Mike

115 = Boost
118 = WG Duty

If you're logs already show a pegged WG then it's pointless cranking the boost.

I'll also throw in that my car actually ran better on timing 6 than it did on timing 7 or 8....despite the fact that I never saw any timing pull at all on either of those settings! As the great ones say....less is sometimes more :)
