is this worth doing??

will it damage the engine??

im thinking about doing this to make my engine sound more aggresive, is it a good idea??

can anyone recommend any cheap induction kits which are worth trying??

as for sound, would it b heard over the diesel engine? As for performance it would suck in more hot air (from around the engine) so in theory you performance would suffer...best thing to do from what i've read is to get a green panel filter and the pd160 intake, although this won't do anything for sound (or at least, i don't think it will)

yeah it does improve the sound slightly even on my derv, turbo whitsles a bit more, that sort of thing, but it's a good mod seems to rev free'er

got the green panel and cupra intake already, jus interested in getting the car to make a better sound

the panel filter does make the car slightly sound different aswell

think that putting induction kits on derv cars arnt as impressive in sound gains than the petrol but if supplyed with a good source of cold air feed should make slight! gains in performance my sister put a viper with no induction pipe on her mg zr diesel and sounded pants! think sticking to the pd160 would be your best bet performance wise maybe a few holes before the filter will make it loader but you will be taking away the performance factor.

i fitted induction kit to mine and made a diff to sound could hear the Turbo much more and reved much better. i even after about 2 months fitted the originall air box etc back and i noticed the diff straight away i hated it and next day fitted the induction kit back.#

wouldnt be without it mate :D

I have the BMC CDA system fitted on mine ;)

It's enclosed so you don't get the heat affection any performance gains!

IMHO I can't really say I can hear the filter........but that may have somthing to do with my turbo :D
