Indicators gone crazy - help!!!!

Just traded up from ibiza cupra gti to the leon se tdi. It has today decided to start flickering the indicators and stop working. including the hazard lights. I have checked the bulbs are all tight and also the fuse is ok but tend to think it is shorting.
Anyone had similar problem - due mot soon so would like quick remedy.

yer hazard light switch has gone try pressing it on off fast about 20 times somtimes this works as a temporary cure

will try that this morning - good exercise!! thanks - it is going in for mot so will mention it then. any idea what else it could be. feel cursed as ibiza had speed sensor go and took ages to locate it!! expensive hobby!!
