I'd have said the Seat paint is tough.

The stone chips will happen on any car, even ferrarri's get them.

dont know about SEAT but all the cars ive had even my orion which was 17 years old didnt have no where near the amount of chips the ibiza has, my astra was exellent only one or two

I noticed the difference, because of the way the English was written, that he wasn't an English speaker. Maybe i just notice these things because i've run the forum for so long.

Its easy to spot a brit who just speaks bad english

I think it's just due to the thinner lacquer, water based paint and white primer showing them up more. It also depends where you drive it. I don't do much motorway driving and mine hasn't developed many more chips over the last 2.5 years, whereas the previous Welsh owner must have been doing rally stages! I just get the dents from the idiots who park next to me.

me to its very annoying with a black car im going to ask specifically if i can get a thick layering of laquer etc when mines resprayed as dont want them to return, fair play your english is good as i found out in oosterbeek holland, but something i think we expect, im in norway at the moment and their english is better than mine sadly.

ive been told its the laquer by a bodyshop that resprays vag cars regular, the bloke i know reckons if you try and mop it too much you stand a chance of burning through it?

You may be right, and some of the posts on here recently, are alot worse that this, and they are from english speaking people.
Another reason why we wouldnt not have been aware of the language difference, could be, usually when we have an international member, they usually point out the fact.

yea but i still got it to 120 mph but then stone chips are caused by the car infront
