I'm back in the 1.4 gang again! ;)

Well, Emma is anyway !! :D

After we had the accident in my old Cordy over Xmas, Em realised that her puny 106 woudn't provide hardly any protection in a simialir incident, so she's asked me to keep an eye out for a 1.4 Ibiza for her.

Saw one in Autotrader on Saturday, and went to see it yesterday.

V-reg 1.4S, 75k on the clock, in British Racing Green (with a 'Brooklands' sticker on the back, special edition?) body work's in very good condition (no bumps or rust), but it has got several 'scuffs' to the paintwork which I reckon will polish out.

All for the grand sum of £1,500 (inc 9months left on the MOT and 6 months tax, and a full tank of fuel!)

Going to pick it up on Saturday.

If you mean Forest Green, that's a lovely colour. Not that i'm biased or anything  Not sure if "Brooklands" is a special edition, it's probably just an 'S' with some dealer stickers and maybe some of the less expensive dealer fit options or something. Remember that as a V plate it'll be a run-out model, and dealers were doing all the usual "special edition" tricks to try and shift 'em.

G, Forest Green it is then ;) I reckon the Brooklands stickers was just a special edition gimic. Can't see anything on it that's any different to my old std 1.4-S

Andy, to fit 280mm Ibiza brakes to yours, you'll need the full assembly, including hubs, carriers, callipers, hoses etc. Was going to say you'd need new wheels, but you've got 17's which will be fine.

Cool, thats an idea then.

Going to keep the 1.0 for a while might as well get more no claims before i buy big.....2 years and counting...

So hubs, carriers, discs, calipers and hoses (Braided or standard).

they shouldnt be hard to source eh?

mk3 cupra and mk gti the same? so someone getting brembos could help with the calipers at least....

Craig, because the Cordy's a Cat-B writeoff I wasn't allowed to buy it back off the Insurance company.

But they given me the contact details of the scrap yard where it's been taken, and I'm in the eprocess of negotiating a price for the bits I want to take off it !!! ;)

Don't you start mate !!! ;)

Mind you, if I do the 280mm brake convertion then she's going to need new wheels, as they won't fit under 14" steelies !

Mk3 16's I reckon will do the job, nice and cheap and they look great on Mk2's :D
Only trying to clear garage space for when I start my weekend car cleaning business at home
