Illuminated gear knob. Opinions please.

I'm looking at getting an illumunated gear knob like the following one from ICT Schaltknauf.

I have a few questions though:
1. What do you think?
2. How is it powered?
3. Are they straight forward to fit?
4. I take it cubic means size of engine?

Oh and I've seen the guide to fitting a new gear knob but it doesn't cover the illuminated version.

That's a bit strange. Are they dodgy or something?

Do you mean take it off completely or extend it? And is it pretty easy. I mean something that I could do perhaps. I don't mind tinkering but don't want to start ripping my dash apart. lol

Can't recall why.
Just drop the ashtray out, only one screw and tap into the wiring.

Ok. I may just treat myself for xmas.

Along with the replacement gloss black wing mirror caps, stubby aerial and new R badge for the front.

Here's an option for you:

I was looking at getting this ages ago, had to dig out the pic as its not on the net any more but i guess it could still be made. The reason I didnt go for it was because I didnt really like the golf-ball type look compared to the standard LCR knob. I contacted the guy asking if he could modify the LCR knob (because of the better quality) but this couldn't be done. He did say he could get the other style knob in but in the end I couldn't be bothered and left it as standard.
