How many engines have you damaged badly from your textbook/calculator tuning......... How many have I? erm....
Bill
I blew a rod on a 68000 mile engine that had most of those 68000 miles with over 300lbft being produced. It was driven hard, and I accepted that I was taking the piss out of the internals, hence why I had all the parts ready for a rebuild when it went pop.
Other than that, I have burnt one valve out. That's in 90,000 miles of taking the piss.
This entire discussion started because you made the statement (by assumption) that I had made unsuitable tweaks to my timing which caused the failure. I corrected you on this, and you then proceeded to start a pissing contest.
I at no point since my problems with JBS have I posted any of it on the boards, or actively criticised their products or tuning. I have not done this because I felt it was wrong to do so. I also think that Guy Freiling writes good code and tuning tools, so why would I criticise it.
If you re read my posts again , they contain a lot of questions, that you as a custom tuner of renown should be able to answer for all the interested readers out there, yet you steadfastly refuse to.
Any way bill as I said in my previous post, we have hijacked this thread and taken it off topic enough.
Please take up my sugestion, and start a new thread explaining the intricacies of how the bosche ecu opperates. I'm sure there are many readersof the boards that would find your wealth of knowledge usefull and interesting. I have never claimed to know anything other than the basics, and would be interested to gain from your superior knowledge.
