Ignition sequence?

Hi all, can some body please confime the ignition sequence on th 1.8T engine with AYP code? i was confident that i new this but i had a search on the net just to confirme and came up with all sorts of weird and wonderfull things, and i'm now more confused than when i started.

i take it ur talking about firing order....

it's 1-3-4-2 according to autodata 2000 (1 being the cambelt end)

Thank thats spot on, i did a search for ignition sequence and firing order and got all sorts of crap and things that contradicted each other, and it was the same with cylinder number, some said cylinder 1 was the other end! so i just wanted to confirme what i thought.

Sorry to hijack, but can anyone confirm which end is cylinder 1 and which is 4? I presume it's the same on mk4 Ibizas as mk3s. I'm trying to help someone out with coilpacks and they have replaced the right-hand one but Vag-Com says the problem is with cylinder 1 (the left hand one?)

Cheers Sharky, but I now think 1 is on the right on the mk4s. Just looked on ElsaWin and it shows a picture of the cylinder 3 coilpack and it is the second one from the left strange

Ok it seems the diagram I was looking at shows the coil pack layout from behind (the oil filler neck is on the right). So 1 is on the left, as you would expect...oops!
