* Radio code will be required unless it's an aftermarket HU
* Clock will reset
* Miles counter will reset
* Would be wise to leave it on ignition for a couple of mins for the ECU to do a full throttle body alignment (if your is a petrol).
* ECU will have to learn fuel mixture ratio if your running on anything above 95RON
* Won't have automatic roll up on the windows. Don't know why... but just lock the car up with the key but leave it in the left hand position for 3 seconds and then it will be switched back on.

Gonna leave it another 20 mins then reconnect and take for a drive. Hope everything works

just done this. unplugged black cable first then red. battery therefore disconnected for 30 mins, connected back up in reverse. red then black. ignition on....windows....down then up. aircon/fans etc. lights all on then off. started car went for a blast down duel carrageway through the gears then home taking it easy. hopefully has worked resetting the ecu. set clock again so hopefully!! tried this on my 1.2 to see if it helps my fuel issue. thanks

You wont have any problems mate, Seat wouldnt design a car that goes belly up when you disconnnect a battery, its just not the done thing as its a regular maintenance item.
Sure you wil have to re-store your radio stations etc and if the ECM actually does optimise fuel mapping and things then it will do that within the first few minutes of driving anywaya and anything that does lose its settings can be redone without any disgnostics eqipment Theres nothing to worry about.

so I didn't get chance to do this yestoday had to work.
But this last post is insinuating that everytime you drive the ECU re-calculates your driving anyway, is that right?

It always makes some adjustments to suit the way it is being driven, but if you disconnect the battery for long enough it will start again from a base. After a bit of driving, it will just end up at the same settings unless you also change your driving style.

You won't lose your radio stations but you will need the radio code unless you've disabled it.

cold ~1100RPM

warm ~700 RPM

those idle RPM's seem about right?
Regarding my post about the radio stations, it entirely depends on if you have the O/E radio fitted or an aftermarket one, either way it should be just fine though
