whats the craic lads on my mk2 1.6 when idleing the car sometimes rev to about 1150rpm and then falls back to 850rpm but then sometimes it idles okay the problem started back in dec when it was very cold but the other way round i.e the revs where dropping now she has 83k Miles on her any ideas
in cold weather, doesnt it have an automatic choke like thing going on.....not sure if technically it is a choke anymore.....just basically puttin a richer mix of fuel through.....
mine revs high on first starting up when cold (just around 1100) but then drops when warm to around 800.
if warm or summer time it starts normally...
yeah i think i might fill her up with v power next time i think it could be something to do with my temp gauge not working it gets intermitant readings! so i'll get that recalibrated and see

well i did my week fluids check today, and i threw a bit of collant into it. It was well over the min but i thought hey can't hurt, took my car to college the idle had dropped to below 900rpm again succes but this means when the stealers had it in november they topped up my collant with water! still gonna get the temp gauge sorted but this is the second time they missed something i don't know if i'm happy or angry
Talking of temp sensors....
where is the temperature sensor, that displays outside temperature on the dash, located? easy to change...mine comes up with some truely imaginative readings!!! especially for this country!!
Hiya Sam, the little bugger is just below the passenger side foglight on the black vallance. Part costs in the region of £20 and takes about 10 minutes to fit, but you'll need the hands of a Japanese ventriloquist to reach it.
