I have a small problem lol... well brought my Leon Cupra (not R) back in March of this year and after using it for work commute have realised that i have some issues with mileage costs and the mileage i am doing a day.

Problem being i do 50 mile each way to work now and also drive whilst at work so can easily get through £150 a week on few.... its just not ideal.

Been thinking about selling and then buying a Leon diesel.. just wondered views on this.

Also my Leon is a 52 plate, 64,000 on the clock just had a 60,000 service cambelt checked and told not to change until next service at least.. it has full service history comes with the full leather interior and also electric folding mirrors.

Its a late 52 plate so comes with the new bumpers etc... good condition throughout. Its the black magic colour. 1 years MOT and also just under 1 years Tax.

I paid £8900 for it........ Would like to ask around £8500 is this realistic price as need to really get what i paid to have a chance on a diesel.

Any ideas please, bit gutted as i love the speed and overall condition.. leather, electrics etc... only one other owner from new second owner being me.

Its standard throughout.

I'd say thats a fair price! Unfortunately the fun of driving these cars comes at the cost to run them! :( I have no plans to get rid of mine tho, thinking of buying a TDI Arosa as a second car for the commute!

imho opinion i dont think you will fetch 8900
i paid 8700 for one with 20k on still in warranty last november and i keep seeing the average price of an 8500-9000 having no more than 40k on the clock

if i was looking to buy, i would probably be looking to offer you 7500.thats just me personally, not everyone is the same.

good luck with the sale etc, ive also been toying with the ideas of getting a diesel for the same reasons as you

But you shouldn't do £150 in fuel for 500 miles....!

agree with RikH - 7500 is more attainable, but you never know.

fuel is also used during work time mate, yes i get it back eventually but its the cost at the time... more than 500 miles a week hence the £150

absolutely no chance £6800... lol.... not one that i have seen on autotrader at that price comes with same spec/condition as mine.... (mileage is nothing if the car has been cared for) maybe the pre face lift models yeah but mine is a face lift version, plus leather electric seats, folding mirrors etc... already been offered £7500 but not sure about selling yet so will wait until i am decided and stick it on autotrader maybe for £8000 ish

I wouldn't expect prospective buyers to be so enthusiastic about the "mileage is nothing if the car has been cared for" line as what you are. I think 7 to 7.5 is about right

The generalty of the public have a different perception with regards to mileage.
Im not a milage snub as i recently bought a vw bora with 127k miles.
I was only speaking from my personal experience of selling.
its a nice car though[B)]

ever
but thats just me

i would if it was a big V8 or something that would never have been used remotely to it's potential, smaller engines i'd be more careful with because they've spent more of their lives at the limits

in my own personal opinion i would be more careful of a low milelage recent LC/R.
coz chances are the owner uses it at the weekend and canes the-hell-rev-nuts out of the car at weekends hence the nex buyer stands chances of lage bills.

you must be doing a lot of miles to get through £150. I did 30k miles last year in my revo'd lcr and i dont spend that much per week. Usually get about 350-400 miles per tank average driving - upto 480miles if i drive really carefully

Depends how you drive. Drive hard and it will be worse. I average about 28-30mpg of mixed driving. Best was 37mpg at constant 75mph. Worst was 9mpg on track!
