Ideas on buzzing at about 2800 RPM?

Howdy folks,

New here so hopefully this is allowed content. Trying to understand a new buzzing sound that has started in my Mk3 Leon Cupra 290 since last weekend.

Originally, I was only noticing it at very low revs - basically at crawling speed, for example when pulling away from a stop or parking. I'd notice a brief buzzing sound at those lower revs as I dab the throttle. It would be non-existent at anything more than crawling speed, so in normal driving I'd hear no buzzing.

However, in trying to pinpoint where the buzzing from coming from, I discovered that I could consistently reproduce the issue by holding my revs at about 2800 RPM.

Here's a video demonstrating this: https://streamable.com/edm3u4 (if Streamable links aren't allowed, I'll re-upload to YouTube).

I think the buzzing is originating from the bottom of right side B pillar, basically where the driver's seatbelt is anchored, as it definitely sounds louder if I point my ears down there.

Here's a another video showing what I mean: https://streamable.com/l8y5if

Unfortunately I haven't got anyone who can rev the car for me while I check how prominent the buzzing is from outside the car, but if I stick my head out of the window while revving it is significantly less noticeable. The buzzing is much more prominent from within cabin and especially when the windows are closed to reduce outside noise.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks for any replies in advance! :)

Replied to a thread about this last week. My 19 plate Leon ST had this, and it was the plaastic heater pipe going to the driver's side vent that was buzzing
Will highlight this to the mechanic next week when it’s in to check over. Thanks for the response

This was the cause to my problem. The fuel line was vibrating as this was cable tied together.

Just to follow up this thread, I thought I had solved this irritating buzzing on my 19 plate ST, but the problem came back after a few days. On further investigation I've finally found the culprit once and for all - what was buzzing/rattling was actually the wiring plug going to the driver's kneepad airbag underneath the steering column. The wiring plug is on the end of the airbag, on the end nearer the centre console, above the position where the clutch pedal is (or would be if not DSG  ). I've just stuck a length of silver duct tape over the very end of the airbag module to secure the wiring plug which was vibrating within its socket - the silence in the car is now deafeningly obvious!

Wondered if you lads have solved your similar problem, and thought I'd share my own solution

Glad to hear you solved your issue.
mine was my fuel line. The vibration was heard at low revs, stationary and when moving. Did some jiggery pockery to sort it underneath.
