 Came out to this morning to discover the entire windscreen iced over on the inside

So had ice on both sides. After emptying entire kitchen roll at the bottom of the windwsreen on the dash I watched in horror as the ice melted and run into the underside of the dash.

I hope the paper towels caught the most.

No idea why that would happen. Left the car open for over 4 hours after that to try to air it since its been locked up for over 6 weeks solid since I cant drive it right now until Jan.

Cant figure out why so much moisture keeps collecting on the inside windscreen any ideas

Could be as a result of you not driving it for so long. Moisture would still get in through the air vents. If you were driving the car regularly (sp) then it would dry out because you'd have the heater on, currently the moisture is getting into the car but because it's not being driven then the car's not drying out.

If you wash the car, try running the engine while you're washing the car and setting the AC on warm to try drying the interior out a bit.

Not sure if it'll help but worth a try

couple of things that might help - Firstly when you park it up make sure all your air is set to come out of the other vents, perhaps the floor or face vents - not pointing upwards or left on automatic. Then turn the car off. This should leave the window vents closed and hence the cold air that gets in will not be going towards the screen.

Another thing to check is obviously for leaks - check the pollen filter, remove any leave and cr*p that gets in the engine bay area.

Dont really know what else to suggest to be honest, but as Stevew B said its probably because it doesnt/hasnt been driven much.

might have to do the vents as there is defenitly no leaks around the pollen filter.

got to go shopping today might get the mrs to drive my car I will risk the hear attack in order to vent the car.

i am only up the road.. i'll take it for a spin for you!! ;) theres some nice back roads aldershot way all though wooded areas up by tweezledown that love a car being "driven really carefully and below the speed limit " that way a complete stranger can give you a heart attack instead of your darling beloved!
