women lol!

Two main culprits are ignition coil and distributor cap.

You have to have owl vision to check the coil, you need to look for cracks in the plastic casing, then look for scoring marks or white marks. The scoring can be as small as a mark made by a biro nib.
see this link, different coil but shows what to look for http://www.sternbachmachine.com/bad_coil.JPG

On the distributor cap pop it off and check the four metal contacts, that they are clean and dont have white crusty crap on them, also check the casing for cracks, and in the roof there is a carbon rod, which should be smooth, and look like a pencils rubber.

Im confident its one of the above.

dizzy cap from halfords or anywhere else is about £12, ignition coil is about £30.

if its not one of those or you arent sure message back.

If it was all four misfiring then i would be looking at an electrical connection from the coil back ie towards battery etc.

As it is only one misfiring, that usually suggests something from the cap to the plugs, as this is where the voltage seperates into four (between each plug).

Its worth rechecking the cap, but it could be a lead that is worn, cracked or loose at the spark plug or distributor.

Checking the cap only takes a minute, recheck it anyway, then look at each lead, including connection points for white powder.

Also check the plugs anyway, although that shouldnt cause issues only in the wet.

This happened to my g/fs car. If you drove through a puddle it would just cough and splutter and loose all power, then after a min would come back to life. IT also feels underpowered.

Me too. Just learned to live with it. Sometimes if you hit a puddle then let it idle it will cut out and not start. After 10 minutes the heat drys it out and it runs fine.

Crack in distributor or small crack in ignition coil housing. Can be tiny but moisture gets in, takes a bit of time to dry out and works again.

look for scoring/marks/whiteness on the coil housing.
