just bought an 04 ibiza so i persume its classed as a mk4. i've been looking at slightly modding it. now its only a 1.2 so i dont want to draw to much attention to it, but i have found some new alloys, but dont know what the stud pattern is on the ibiza. is it 5 x 100? also lowering springs cos the back looks far to high, ive seen some on ebay but they say 1.4 upwards. is it will these fit a 1.2? or arent there lowering springs that fir a 1.2?

Yup, stud pattern 5x100, offset is 42

As Guinness said really but in my opinion don't go bigger than 16s, 17s start to effect the acceleration. I've had 14" steels, 15" alloys and then 17" Alloys, I'm now back on the steels, the car is so much more enjoyable than when the 17s were on. 16s will look fine, especially if you're lowering it [B)]

You can get springs for the 1.2, Have a look on the forum mainpage at the sponsors, some of those companys should be able to sort you out, or alternatively...

42/43 standard I think mate

I had 17x8 ET35 and they gave me no problems with standard suspension,
IMO go for 16s (as previously said)

Anything between 35 - 40 should be sound

What ET are these wheels you have in mind.

Altho coilovers are expensive see if you can get them, they make a better ride, specially if you are going to go quite low, or (dunno if you can get them for seat's) Progressive Supension... it's lower but feels like normal suspension until you start driving fast then it stiffens up (well that's what I've been told.. )

What ever you do mate, get some picies up so we can see it come on.. it's always nice to see what other peeps do to there cars :D

size will prob be 15 or 16 but im thinking more 15. just done a quick photo shop chop and it looks kinda cool. but will need to be on its ar*e. also the black strips on the side will either have to go and get the doors smooth or colour code them at least. im picking the car up on saturday and when i sell my golf hopefully the funds will go onto the ibiza, although wifey has a nice bathroom suit in mind :(

I've never been a fan of the KT5 but I think they would look quite good on an Ibiza 16x8 at the front 16x10 at the back, deep dish euro style. :)

Unfortunately I think the rubbing strips have pins into the door so shaving them will not be cheap.

They are held on with an adhesive tape the pins are just fr positioning rather than on old air cooled VWs where they were actually clipped on. If you want to paint them they will need a lot of sanding as they are textured but there was a company selling smooth ones for painting.

Yeah to really get away with 15s it'll need to be seriously low, I have a pic of mine on 15s and std suspension that I can dig out later.

If it were me I'd go 16s, and looking at this
http://www.keskin-tuning.de/Seiten/Low/FDetail.asp?FID=KT N5#
go for the 16x7.5 ET35 all round, or 9s on the back if you're feeling daring (probly have to run stretched tyres with 9s to get the tread under the arch, especially with such a low offset)
