Ibiza SC Custom Exhaust

Hi guys,

Well i've have my new ibiza from march and i don't like how the sporty trim gets all "standard" when you look at the unsporty exhaust. So i've been looking at some exhausts and i've decided that i'm gonna get a custom backbox made.

I've decided on this:

www.longlife.co.uk/global_images/exhausts18.gif

It will have a custom backbox to give it that sporty sound. I've been quoted £200 for the whole thing to be made and fitted.

Is this a good price? I don't really have much experiance with modding cars. More importantly will it VOID the warrenty?

I also want back 3 windows tinted, should i go for "Limo Black" or "Deep Smoke", i have a dark blue metallic Ibiza. I've been quoted £90 fitted. Is that OK?

I'l post pics as soon as i get em done (if i do of course)

Cheers

Pointless me saying this now but why didn't you get the windows tinted as an option? then you would be safe in the thought of knowing its a perfectly legal tint and will look OEM.

Personally I wouldn't go for limo i would go for a lighter "smoked" tint. But its down to you at the end of the day. I think a smoked tint will look better against blue.

£200 I believe is a good price for custom. Do a bit of searching on google to see people's experiences with them. Tell them you are more after the note rather than noise then it isn't immensely annoying.

^^ legally you can have the rear windows tinted as dark as you like
personally i could have light/medium smoke as it makes the car look daft without the front windows done.
as for the exhaust £200 sounds a good price fitted mate

Well i got the tints done, i got dark smoke, one shade less than limo black. I think it looks good, not too dark like a van but not to light.

I'm gettin the exhaust fitted tomorrow so i'l post pics tomorrow afternoon. (gotta make some posts first)

My next thing to do is paint the calipers and slam it too sometime in the future...

I'm gettin it done at "top gear stockport", i think apart from a few other things fitting exhausts is their main business.

Some of their work is on Youtube, the user is called "tecroadandrace"

I'm going for the longlife custom backbox with "mid-sport" sound option...

I'l post pics tomoz and maybee a vid.

As you can see i've gone for a subtle exhaust, not a huge jap one. It makes a really nice deep hum, not to loud though.

What do you think?

yeah, those tints really do look good on the ada blue (the same colour i've ordered mine in).. i didn't go for tints from factory, but i may think about getting mine done when it gets here in september having seen yours.

Hows visability through the rear view mirror with the tints on? I'm quite precious about having good visability, can't even drive with a little bit of rain or dirt on the windscreen.

Well looking out of them it is obviously abit darker but you can still see everything clearly enough.

I'm really liking the exhaust system, i think it might have increased the power a little bit but i couldn't be sure lol.

I think if you have the 1.6, the engine sounds sporty/loud so together with the deep hum of a performance exhaust i think it sounds great, not like a chavvy nova or 1.0L corsa that sounds like a touring car lol, it just get the balance right.

It cost me an extra £43 on the insurance also just in case anyone was thinking of having something similar done.
