Beginning to give up with my Cupra TDi had it since new on a 07 plate done 67,000 miles
Had no end of problems which have all been covered by warrenty luckily

Problems:

Seat Belt frayed.

Airbags not connected so light came on.

Seat frame replaced as it was brocken.

Wrong boost hoses fitted in factory.

Now replaced boost pipe also needs replacing as it is rattling.

just had two rear wheel bearings changed.

Damaged spare wheel in boot from factory.

Probably more just cant remember anymore!

Just wanted to know do i have a dud car or is this just seat in general!
As it is soon out of warranty i think it will be time to get rid of it asap.

:( I think you've just been unlucky.Ibizas in general are pretty reliable.
I've had mine 4 years with virtually nothing go wrong.Certainly haven't had any of the probs you've had.
I can understand you wanting to punt it though.I've had a couple of rogue cars in the past. You keep on thinking(once it's fixed),that nothing else will go wrong, but sometimes the problems keep on coming. Then it becomes a money pit.

I dont know what to say mate, 67000 on an 07?
Thats alot of mileage for such a young car!

I'm very surprised at your problems to be honest, I've had seats since I was 17 (21 now) and I've never had a problem that I didn't cause.

I'd wait for the new Cupra's and give them a whirl to be honest.

That is a lot of miles on an 07.

We have four cars in our household, all around 4-5 yrs old. We got the Ibiza 1.2 S new in Sept 04 and it's done 40K miles. It's the only car in our "fleet" to have broken down - 3 times. Radio and heater fan control both packed in.

It's also the only car I've ever been responsible for that has failed MOT - it failed at 4yrs/34K miles due to suspension bush cracking and uneven rear braking. Dealer just saw it as a chance to screw money out of us - SEAT should be embarrassed about such young, fully dealer serviced, cars failing MOT.

so many factory related problems sounds like its a Friday car. nothing to do with high mileage.

That's the part of the beauty of buying a new car.

If ya buy a used car some poor bloke has probably taken it back into garage fifty times under warranty and sorted all the problems out for ya.
