Ibiza MkIII Airbag Removal - Help!

Please can someone tell me how to remove the airbag from my steering wheel. I've done the battery disconnect for 1/2 hour and then removed the control lead under the steering column.
Using a mirror and light, looking up the holes in the back of the wheel, I can't see a screw (philips or allen), how do I do it???
I can see what looks like the side of a pin?
Please help - I'm trying to change my indicator / wiper stalk assembly.
Cheers!

turn the wheel 1/4 turn & you can 'poke' a standard slot screwdriver in the hole to release the clips, you have to do one, then the other (not just one)

then it just pops out.

Although it won't go off, I've never been able to sit there with my face in front of it!

Many Thanks!

Cheers Guys
Got the blighter off eventually - easy when you know how!
Felt a bit like a bomb disposal guy might feel!
Found that one of contacts on the indicator stalk was knackered - you could see where it had been arcing (plasic was ablated around it!) - cured the crazy relay switching.
A bit disapointed again in the quality of my Ibiza, I seem to spend too many weekends fixing things for a 48,000 mile car!
Again, I'd be lost without this forum - Thanks!

Just was wondering where you got your stalk from in the end? - did you go to main squealers?

my windscreen wiper stalk switch was playing up and i had to remove my steering wheel. I too out the wiper stalk and give the contacts a good clean up but I should really replace it because the problem has almost gone away (wipers were coming on themselves!) but every now and again the problem comes back.

I made a mistake of putting the battery back on with out the steering wheel back on and the airbag disconnected to try out the repair job I done on the stalk before putting the steering wheel back on which resulted in me having to have the airbag light being extinguished at the local SEAT garage but the Mrs was 'enquiring' about a used motor off the guy and with that in mind he cleared the airbag light for nothing;) -

I was scared at taking the airbag out at first - then after a while I got confident and I played football with it - (only jokin') :D

I know what you mean about sorting out a load of things on the car I am the same addressing problems lately. Rear screen washer going, things on the engine packing up, wiper and high beam stalks packing up and now starter motor a bit iffy. Mind you my car is 6 years old and done 85,000 miles and I have lately been informed that the previous owner before me never use to get it serviced properly and was a bit workshy when it come to getting problems fixed.

Indicator Stalks

I got the unit from a SEAT dealer, only £33.00, not bad really. It comes as an assembly (i.e. can't buy the individual items) of indicator and wiper stalks all screwed to an aluminium casting that holds the lock barrel and top steering column bearing. My top column was OK, so I unscrewed the stalk assembly from the casting and just swapped that. This avoids removing a press fit collar from the steering shaft and also I can save the top bearing for when it starts to Knock - which looking at the posts on this forum is simply a question of time!
Cheers.
