While I was on holiday in Newton Stewart last week I spotted a silver 04 reg 5 door Ibiza FR. It looked standard apart the the brake callipers which were darkish red colour. The finish and shape were smooth and it didn't look as if they had been hand painted. There was no lettering on them and the discs and wheels looked standard. I didn't have the chance to have a really good look as SWMBO dragged me away!

Bearing in mind it was an 04 reg 5 door there is a good chance it was an import, so does anyone know if red callipers are a feature of foreign spec Ibizas?

Yes, you're probably right. I just got the impression that the castings were a bit simpler and less fussy than mine but, as I said, I didn't have the chance to have a proper look. Mine are white and furry looking now!

isn't powder coating quite expensive? if it is surely its not worth the extra money, seeing as they get covered in brake dust and loose there colour over time?

dont think powder coating is that bad not talking much really size wise and its a better and tougher finish than paint but will prob just paint them when i get them then get them on soon as possible really!
