i had mine timed at 6.93 secs at trax and managed a 6.38 with a G-tech timer,

Its not all about 0-60 tho,

It's the torque level at lower revs that kills the clutch, not the power figures (which peak at the higher end of the rev range).

So ideally what you want is a remap where the torque is capped to a sensible level low down, but with good power through the upper rev range you use when accelerating flat out.
I will be getting an updated Upsolute map on my Passat soon that does just that.

Can't understand why more tuners don't offer this kind of map, I guess big torque figures sound good....

As muddyboots correctly said,

You can have superb torque in the correct places. Its mainly when bringing the torque in too strong low down in the revs that cause clutch wear.

Ideally, the average driver wants a smooth torque curve, which is fairly linear, but with strong torque peaking at a very similar/the same place as standard.

Mine is remapped to save the clutch but gives excellent acceleration throughout the rev range.

So's mine. Peak torque up at 2800rpm instead of way down at 2000 and below. likewise peak bhp was moved down to 3800rpm instead of 4500+. Makes for a fun drive between 2500 & 4000 rpm. [B)]
