Ibiza FR constantly pulling to left

After not driving my Ibiza FR for a few weeks , when i eventually got back in it i noticed that it was pulling to the left quite badly . My first thought was that the tracking was out or the tyre pressure was low . i took it into my local Kwik-Fit to get this checked out where i was told that the tracking was spot on and so was the tyre pressure :) . So i then decided to book it into SEAT and get her checked over as she's stil under warranty . Imagine my suprise when i went to pick it up and got told that they had taken it out for a test drive and said to me thats just how they are !!!! . When u pay 11k for a new car , the least u can ask for is for it to drive in a straight line - or am i aksing a little 2 much !!
Has anyone else noticed this apparent quirk with the Fr's or am i being fobed off as i first thought ?

Thanx in advance guys n gals

sounds like they are fobbing you off mate.i would get a full 4 wheel laser alignment done at a specialist if i were you, this is alot more in depth than a simple track check, & will see if the front wheels are in line with the rears.
The wide low profile tyres arent helping & due to the camber of the road you will always get a slight pull to the left

Had a similar fault with a LCR, multiple tracks to no avail. I recently had a s/s exhaust fitted which req'd front sub frame release (to allow removal of downpipe). After re-fitting sub frame, prob gone.
Try checking all fixing bolts are secure. If all ok, could be a prob with shock absorber(s).

I've got same problem with my leon - was told same thing by my dealers.
I've change suspension, tyres and wheels have been moved to different corners of the car, and it still does it.

Next on the list to be fitted (delivered tomorrow I hope) are my front and rear H&R anti roll bars.
As the front one will need the subframe dropping, I'm hoping this will cure the problem. I've read on uk-mkiv's that it can be the subframe bolts, so hoping this is the case!

Erm, all new cars are meant to turn to the left in case you fall asleep at the wheel on a motorway etc...

If your FR is a TDi then it will suffer from more torque steer id imagine.

Mine with a remap is quite funny to see/watch/do! An they say the VXR has torque steer... try mine :D

How on earth can a dealer tell you 'that's how they all are' and keep a straight face? The sheer cheek of it amazes me.

How about getting them to take you out in another car, if it does the same thing I'd be surprised. They aren't called 'stealers' for nothing.

Should have put it could even be a fault with one of the tyres, had the same thing on my MKIV golf. It was a manufacturing defect in the tyre.

as said in my post - its certainly not tyres on mine, I've had 4 new ones and still does it.
I've had this problem for over a year. If i drive on the RHS of the road or straddle two lanes on a private road it still pulls to the left, UP the camber. Its quite a strong pull, more so than just "normal"

Fall asleep on the motorway ? , what happens if your in the fast lane and u fall asleep then :) , u go careering across 3 lanes of traffic = Not good

"meant to pull to the left" - yeah right!
Manafacturers design one car & ship it all over the world to be driven on the left & right side of the road.
The main reason most cars pull slightly to the left is just down to the camber of the road.Just try driving on the wrong side of the road!

I have a 56 FR TDi and had new tyres fitted and full tracking done but mine still pulls to the left to. It looks as if the steering wheel has to be slightly off to right to go straight ?? Anyone found an answer for this problem yet? or is it the case of put up with it??

tracking doesen't cause a car to pull, all tracking does is stop un-even wear to the tyres.

Your problem could be that the steering wheel is off centre, so when you straighten the wheel up the wheels are not lined up straight.

If that is not the case, an easy test can be applied.

Find a one way street, drive on the left and let go of the wheel. See which way the car goes. Then do the same for the middle and right hand side of the road. If car goes straight in the middle, and towards the kirb on each side of the road then its the camber of the road which is causing the pull and nothing mechanically.

Its so hard to explain by typing in words, please excuse me if i have written this advice down wrong. Hope I have been of some assistance and given you a quick and easy test to do

This link goes back some time, I can only just remember 1st thread!! Alot has changed since then. Have had suspension changed, Arb's changed, upper strut brace added, 18" 8J wheels fitted (wider track), and the car still slightly pulls to the left. The R has had atleast 10 4wheel computer alignments in it's lifetime with me and I purchased the car from new. It seems as if it's a slight trait of the Seat range to do this. It doesn't seem to cause any probs, if anything it makes sure youv'e always got a good grip of the wheel!!
My advise: If the car is wearing tyres evenly then there's generally not a prob and just continue to enjoy your motor!
