Ibiza FR 1.2TSI 2014 high oil consumption on motorway trips

Hi all,

I bought a 2014 Ibiza FR 1.2 TSI with 99,000 miles on the clock in early July 2021 (It's at 101k now😂).

It's had a couple of issues but one concerning issue is that after any motorway trip, be it 60 miles, or 300, after switching off the engine and turning it back on for a bit, the (yellow) oil warning light comes on. When I turn the engine off, and again on, the light goes away.

Another issue, I'm not sure whether they're linked, is that it uses alot of oil. The first time the oil warning light came on, I checked the dipstick and it was sitting at half, when I'd just checked the oil level a couple of days before, it was showing full. This was before a 60 mile rountrip on the motorway.

And now, after topping it up to full, and driving nearly 400 miles down to uni, it's sitting at half again. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the engine? Is it burning oil?

Thanks in advance
