Hi Guys!
As I was given the chance to test the IS20 and IS38 Upgrade turbochargers for Seat Ibiza 6P Cupra 192 HP by PNP Turbo Ladermanufaktur Germany I might give some impressions and orientation when when tuning the Ibia Cupra / Polo 6C GTI 1.8 TSI, which automatically have very solid and stable EA888 Gen.3 engines.
As you know the stock IS12 / IS20 / IS38 original VW turbochargers are very good but very weak when TUNED you need to focus on a highly stable and reliable basic unit / bearing because the stock basic unit crashes very fast and is responsible for thousands of broken turbine shafts. A blown turbo often menas a damaged engine because of backpressure/heat stroke/missing oil, etc. So make sure when tuning your IS12/IS20/IS38 turbochargers or installing the next bigger one, which is easily done, you INVEST in a stable and solid basic unit. You cannot trust the stock basic unit. Consequently the LM turbochargers has fully removed the stock unit and all internals and INSTEAD have the racing premium TD05+ basic unit combined with a lighter+bigger compressor wheel and much mor efficient exchaust wheel for more solid performance. The TD05+ is from Mitsubishi and developed further by Ladermanufaktur GmbH Germany has has run worldwide in almost all important racings every day because it has seemed indestructible for about 7 years now. Also the smallest PNP LM440 IS20 charger has this premium basic unit. When tuning or upgrading your Cupra avoid saving a few pounds but INVEST in stability and complete reliability.
There have been lots of European tuners installing the LM440 and LM500 chargers Cupra + Golf Mk7, Audi S3 S1, etc.
Some photos and videos of tuned Ibiza Cupra, etc.
My favoutite has been the smallest IS20 LM440 - it drives like crazy and is extremely fast and stable: Upper Porsche level.
Maybe it serves as orientation when realizing your tuning projects.
Lots of tuners can do the tune easily. A great variety like MTR, SAR, JP, OK, HGR, SLS, Digitun, SIMON, THT, MRC, MTB, FTS, MR-Chiptech, ProBoost, TVS Engineering, Revo, Regal, etc.
ProBoost will make 400 HP possible in this Cupra seemingly already next week.
