Ibiza Air CON CON!

Hi there,

Has any one had any air con problems? My '02 1.9 tdi vented all the coolant. dealership told me its the compressor, so I said get on and replace it. Next the dealer rings me to say the electrics are dead! After fixing that blunder the air con was set running, and hey presto it blew again .
Now the belief is there is a wiring fault as the unit is on the whole time and its not the controller as this has been swapped out to check. So, I've now been slapped with a £1200 bill (£650 for the air con unit and 5.5 hours investigation time) and the air con is still stuffed

The dealer has appraoched SEAT UK for a goodwill claim, and their response today was NO CHANCE. Personally I have no interest in paying for this as I am getting my car back in a worse condition than I sent it in.

I'd be interested if any member has suffered anything similar, and what the outcome was.

However, the plus side is I've got a relief car, a very nice Leon 2.0 FSI. If SEAT handle this I'll be consiering an upgrade!

blimey, it wasnt just a case of replacing the fusebox on top of the battery in the end was it? thats a common prob.

I was just about to suggest the fuse on the battery? That sounds like you've had a rough time of it!

mate dont bend over and take it, id refuse to pay the bill as the part they are charging you for doesnt fix it regardless if its another part in the end if the unit didnt need replacing why the hell should you cough up for it!

Out of interest, did you get this sussed in the end? If so what was the answer? Story sounds suspiciously similar
