Picking my 130 TDI sport up @ the end of the month, and im looking to get a re-map almost immediately.

I know this has probably been gone over time and time again, but peoples opinions change, newer stuff comes out etc.

I need to know which re-map to get. obviously its a big outlay to then choose the wrong one!! the car isnt moddified, but I am gonna look at doing the cupra intake pipe swap before the re-map.

please can ppl give their opinions on this, and on which company to get to re-map my car. I live in Manchester, tho if there is a place far away thats highly recomended...i dont care bout driving!

Thanks

JK

Well you can get the intake bits from Willoughby(they have a section on here) for about £35
and as for the re-map I would say Revo (again there is a section on here)

Enjoy the car when you get it :D

If you want outright quality service with a remap that is sooooo smooth with no limp mode whatsoever, then get youself Custom Code 1. I would speak with James at JBS - they advertise on this site. Had mine done last week after it was originally mapped by one of the other well known companies.

There's loads of different companies out there as you've said, but do a search here for...

Revo, Custom Code, Forge, Upsolute, Jabba, APR, AMD and I'm sure you'll find more opinions than you know what to do with. Which one you get all depends on which features you want tbh.

I personally went with Revo because they were the closest and had an easy way of tuning the remap on and off using the SPS1 switch, but that might not be important to you. Don't just look at the headline figures on their own either, it's the power delivery that counts as I doubt you'll be able to see/feel the difference between an extra 5bhp here and there.

Yup, id go with James and Custom Code got me a phase one.. and its smooth, and very good!

With the map, ur'll keep up with Leon Cupra 180's too about 110mph! (and of course no one ever does that sort of speeds unless on a track)

thanks for all the replies guys...its just a minefield of info out there on re-mapping. some of it so confusing. I am leaning towards the custom-code one, but its pretty expensive!!

Thnx

you pay for what you get, if you want big torque spikes then go for the cheaper ones but you'll cook your clutch in no time, or go for custom code which is a really smooth map but still makes the car alot quicker than before, and you wont cook the clutch as easily.

I come back to my point earlier and agree with Spaniels, CC is the way to go. The map is fantastic; it pulls like a train all the way round the revs. I had a limp mode problem - now I dont end of story.

or that bit of carriage way between chesterfield and sheffield , oops did i say that outloud

You didnt do 110mph up and down there did you?

Its good for 140mph! shame on you!

End of the day as far as remaps are, I bought a brand new 05 plate FR TDi after 8000 miles I got C-C, my car has now done 20,000 in 10 months or so, I dont drive the car like a granny either! As im sure people on here aka ppl at JBS last weekend know! Tho tbh, thats the most wheel spin etc ive done in a long time!

Basically, my car is fine! No clutch slip, no power problems, and I can still get good mpg... if I choose... or get 30mpg if I wanna keep up with a LC that getting 15mpg whilst keeping up with me!

If you fancy a nice drive, pop up to JBS as visitors mean I get to come out and play aswell :D
