I`v got a stutter/hesitation at 2500rpm on my 140TDI Stylance.
How many of you have experienced this, and is there a cure?

Hi Johnay, I haven't experienced on my leon (still awaiting delivery). I know someone with a 140 bhp golf tdi GT with a stutter about the same rpm range. Does your car also start poorly? I think it maybe something to do with the calibration or debri around the injectors. Volkswagen reckon there's nothing wrong thou.

It would be interesting to here anyone else with the problem. Have you taken it to Seat?

Is the stutter intermittent?

Let me know what they say as it will be interesting to find out.

When the car went to volkswagen the first time they said there was petrol in the fuel.

There was a thread about this hesitation a few months back. Worth having a search.

Seat did not have a solution at the time, but a dealer came up with something to resolve the issue.

Fishy's right, this was discussed. I was interested as my 57 plate 140tdi suffers with the same thing.. Annoying, isn't it!

johnay, can you tell me what you said to your dealer??? I don't want to go in there and start waffling on & make myself look even more of an idiot!

AndyWolves, I said something like

"I get this 'stutter' or 'hesitation' at around 2,500 revs, not when im accelerating or with my foot off the throttle. It only happens when im either maintaining the revs or easing off. "

I also said I had seen others with the same problem on the net.

Hope this helps

johnay, that's interesting that an ECU update cured the problem, they tried twice with mine to no avail. Maybe SEAT have actually acknowledged the problem and fixed it in the latest ECU update.

I'm back at the dealers next Monday, on a completely unrelated matter, I'll see what they say. Mine was a hardware fix so I'll like it undoing if there is a software fix.

murts I did not speak to the mechanic, only the service desk so I dont know the exact fix. But I have done two 100 mile round trips to work with no problem.
