'I' Badge has fallen off

hi all.

so far so good with my 2.0 TFSI sport, it's just over a year old and all is well. Went out to wash it last weekend and noticed the 'I' has fallen off on the off side wing. Gutted. Now I've only got a TFS :D

I've spoken to Seat customer services who can't do anything without me taking it into the dealers for them to assess if it's a warranty issue. ie: if it's fallen off, been ripped off .etc - How they will be able to tell this I really don't know.

I was hoping Seat UK would send a replacement 'I' free of charge as the car isn't that old and I don't expect things to be dropping off it but they can't do this as only dealers can order parts.

Has anyone else experienced this? How helpful were your dealership or Seat UK?

Any help/guidance appreciated.

cheers,
greg

Don't have an answer to your question. But was wondering if you wash your car by hand or not?

I think it is bad luck really.

They're a bugger to clean around.

It is only a sticky bit underneath. Could have been nicked or loosened after a year of washing.

It will only be a couple of pounds. I don't think it is a warranty issue really.

Yes I think it might just be bad luck. Can't believe it's been knicked as there's no scratch marks and the sticky residue is still there.

I always wash my car by hand as I've never trusted car washes or power washers .etc
Also you can't beat that hand detailed Meguiras shine IMO.

What's annoying is I'll probably have to buy the complete TFSI when I don't need it.

Take it to your local dealer. They will probably have one lying around they can stick on for you :)

My mates I was silver not red on his FR and they replaced it in about 30 seconds in the workshop :)

Ive seen the badges on ebay for about £9 each so would try warranty first, i think the 08 model cars wont even have them anymore so you could de-badge it?

I've taken the TDI off mine, so I've got them spare if you want.

Let me know.

The digits are all separate so it doesn't matter as long as the 'I' is the same. ie: RED.

Hi Micheal

Yes this happened to me, need to be really carefull when using a wasmit as the fibres get caught under the letter and can pull it off. I got a new TFSI (you cant just order the i) it comes on a backing sheet that youjust peel off and apply, i just used the i and left the rest and had no problems since.

I paid about £5.95 from SEAT dealer (Robinsons Lowestoft) they sent it and arrived the next day.
