I have just purchased a Fiesta ST to replace my LC. Took ages to decide but i needed something almostas quickas the LC, fun and cheaper to run. You see i am saving for a house so any spare cash is a bonus. I came to the conclusion that the Fiesta ST is a very good comprimise. I got a very good deal to. Should be picking the car up on monday.

I will miss my LC as i get attached to all my cars. Nothing like the turbo kicking in and spinning up.

hi mate.
SHame you are off. I thought the ST was actually worse on economy than the LC?
For a Ford they are quite nice tho :)

I won't be dissapering form the Forums. With regards to the economy i am currently averaging 26 - 27 mpg!!!! The fiesta if pushed hard will be similar but driven day to day should be mid 30's. I think it is evo who are runnig a long termer and they are averaging 33mpg. Insurance and serviceing is a lot cheaper though, so is the finnace.

26/27mpg on a LC seems very low to me - I average 34 easily on my LC, get about 350miles out of a tank.

But anyway, will be good to see pics of the ST.

i've never had better than 28mpg out of my LC, usually 26 - 28. Just depends on how you drive.

Let us know how you get on with the ST. Might be interested myself.

34 surely has to be majority motorway driving? If its read off the trip computer take it with a pinch of salt as it regulary read over by 2 -> 3 mpg on my LC.

Over about 12k miles I used 2020 odd litres of fuel which is about 27.4mpg :D

Mind you I can only just manage 44mpg (over the last 3k miles) out of my Ibiza TDi now, god knows how these people get into the 50's and 60's

I get about 34MPG most weeks with a lot of M-way driving, but still only drops off to 32MPG when driving a bit more spiritedly!

26MPG sounds low tho, I cained home today and still got 29MPG. You must be doing a lot of stop start driving.

Sounds like you are reading it off the trip computer display to me....

My commute was along the B3400 into Basingstoke;) Whats your average on that route?

Trip computer (2 long term average) 29mpg ~ 26 -> 27 mpg fill to fill measurement...

Yeh, most of my driving is motorway, its the easiest/shortest methods for me to get around. I do admit my mileage is quite good, i literally live less than a mile off a main motorway junction, and work is literally 1 mile off a motorway junction at the other end.
I suppose people nipping around town/ across town to/from work would suffer with the consumption..

From parkers figures etc, the LC is quoted as 33mpg combined, and the ST is quoted at 38.... not the 30 of the focus lol

EDIT: OOPS - my bad - i was looking at FOCUS not fiesta LOL
