i got a new HU the other month and finally got round to swapping the power cables so that it would remember its settings. after doing this i didnt use my car for a few weeks, went out to it to day to find it had a flat batterie. i've never had this problem before, is it possible that the HU was draining the batterie?

its normal for if you haven't driven a car for a few weeks for the battery to die...if you've got an alarm that'll drain it, the stereo will drain it etc. If your not going to use it for a few weeks then you could unplug the battery?

it was only a few days, and ive never had a problem starting the car after a few weeks of no use

you did say 'weeks' in your original post..

in my experience, a couple of weeks is enough to flatten a leon battery.
Also, its cold, dark and wintery. So when the car was used the heater was on, maybe demister, air con? lights and the cold reduces the battery. Added to this the alarm and stereo... its more than possible.

So how exactly have you wired up your stereo?
