i am thinking of changeing the speakers in my ibiza 1.4s any reccomendations?

i've read a few threads on here and so it seems that the original head unit is a pig to change/upgrade. so i might aswell leave that in there since i will be using a cd changer in the boot anyways.

If i put some aftermarket speakers in what power should i be looking at? 100w ? 50w? i really am a newbie when it comes to speaker wattage! so all advice welcomed :)

anyone written a guide on swapping speakers out for a ibiza?

Would i need an amp?

Is this easy enough to do myself?

and how much ££ should i be looking to spend?

Thanks in advance!

you want something with about 50RMS if possible... (thats what i was always told)
would personally recommend JBL... had full jbl sound in my old car and never had any issues at all... loved it.

hey DON'T get jbl they aint too good, if you don't want to cut into your parcel shelf halfords usually stock speakers that will fit the standard holes. if you want 6x9's i have just fitted some vibe qb69's also from halfords for £99 and i can honestly say they are the best speakers i have heard from a standard headunit!! there are some on e-bay brand new for £79 at the moment, personally i would go for them, you won't rgret it!!!

Hello!

Take a look at ICECAVERN, quality site full of useful tips like this one.

I'd start upgrading the front speakers as this will make the biggest difference. Then at the same time start thinking about an amp for them.

The type of speakers should depend on the type of music you listen too, jbl are more suited to dancy type music than the Infinity range!

Personally i wouldnt go for 6x9's at all.
